Round Up From Round Top
Read along to see fun pictures from my Round Top, Texas experience yesterday. I will also be sharing some tips and advice to help you maximize your time!
Even though it is Spring in Texas, the weather is still very unpredictable. Yesterday it was very windy with a chance of rain. This was my second trip to Round Top, so I had a general idea of what to wear. My last Round Top trip, the weather was hot! By the end of the day, you had to put your hair up and hope your make up had not melted off. This time around, the weather was completely different. The wind was so strong you had to hold on to your hat to make sure it did not blow away.
For our trip, I wore skinny black pants, an oversized mens button down, my worn in cowboy boots, my long jcrew jacket, a darling handkerchief, cowboy hat, and my MiuMiu crossbody! I love wearing a cross body that is big enough to carry a bottle of water, my essentials, and my camera. Being handsfree is essential, especially while digging through some of the tents.
For your Round Top outfit, I highly encourage checking the weather!
Essentials for an outfit:
Comfortable shoes! You will be doing a TON of walking.
A hat and hair tie! Whether it is the wind, or the heat, having your face covered and your hair managed will make for a better experience.
A comfforbtale t-shirt or button down would be perfect top.
A crossbody purse, you are going to be doing a lot of shopping and walking and some of the spaces will be tight. Being handsfree is so nice, plus not being the lady who turns and knocks over items is always a plus!
Feel free to accessorize, even though it is outside shopping and some shopping will require digging around, most ladies still look instagram worthy. So my recommendation is to feel comfortable!
Essentials for the trip:
Bring cash! They have ATM’s but having some cash will only help with food and parking. The most I have ever paid for parking (it included my entrance fee) was $20. Food, in my opinion, is over priced. I still eat it, but some only accept cash!
Pack a cooler in the car with water, sodas, champagne (in our case), and possible snacks.
Since 80% of the shopping is on a dirt floor, if it rains you might want to bring rain boots. I could see mud being a real issue.
For moms with children, we saw plenty of strollers!
We also so people walking around with wagons to hold their purchases (some serious shoppers will bring a trailer attached to their vehicle). Most vendors will give you some sort of bag, but bringing at least one reusable shopping bags will only help!
I traveled with three of my friends to Round Top this trip, and since I am newly-is engaged, one of my sweet friends brought me a delicious bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose. It was so yummy!! One of my other favorite parts of this trip, was being able to meet up with two ladies I have connected with via Instagram. Meeting and connecting with women from Instagram is absolutely one of my favorite things about blogging!!! The ladies are traveled with and met up with are all fabulous in their own right!

Yesterday we shopped at Market Hill, The Arbors,Round Top Hill, and The Silver Barn (located in The Compound)l. There are so many vendors within each of these and I am so sorry thatI only took a few pictures. I am so happy to share them with you all. I hope they make you want to plan a trip to Round Top! One of the reasons I went to Round Top on Saturday was to meet two of my instagram friends in real life! We had a lovely meet and great at the darling Silver Barn! This above beauty is Cynthia. She is a ball of southern charm!! I was so excited to meet her in person! She and I have connected on instagram a few months ago, and even went to the same high school! She was so thoughtful as to send me a surprise engagement present last week!! I was able to visit her store and even did a tour which you can find on my instagram under the highlight Round Top. Visit Cynthia at her store Silver Barn if you go to Round Top! Her store is a brick and mortar, is open all year long (versus being a tent merchant on there twice a year). She is a wealth of knowledge and something for everyone!

The 3 must do things of Round Top
You must go visit Punky’s and take some photos!!
You must try some of the local food, there are tons of food merchants on the side of the road, pull over and try something new!
Go visit La Bahia, there is merchant there who has the best silver selection. I am so sad I missed him time around!
