Bar Cart: The Old, The New, The Beautiful
I love styling my bar carts! This paricular bar cart was a gift from my grandmother, we found it while vintage shopping together. My style can be best described as “Antique Magic,” or as I commonly refer to it as “Vintage Hostess.” Plainly explained, it is when you mix old and new pieces to create something magical in your home. For this bart cart, I have featured some of my new pieces.
Keep reading to see how it has all come together to create the magic!
In this bar cart set up, I focus on mixing my antique and vintage pieces with my new pieces. I hope to inspire you all to do the same. One of my favorite things about vintage shopping, is being able to create a new purpose for something that was intended for something else. For instance, I use a sugar cup from a tea set to hold my berries for my champagne.
This soup tureen is from 1820’s-1830’s and I decided to use it as a mini champagne bottle chiller. I even added flowers to the ice display. I have every intention to use the bowl for peonies and actual soup in the cooler months.
The old in this bar car is the antique soup tureen, the brass candlestick holders, the champagne coupes, the dinner napkins, the napkin rings, the sugar holder, and the bar cart. The new on this bar cart include the hot pink tapper candles, the monogram pillow, and the Staffordshire inspired dogs! I think they are perfectly paired!
I hope this bar cart has inspired you to mix the old and the newer items in your home together. Let us create antique magic together!
