Outdoor Springtime Entertaining
Outdoor Springtime Entertaining with Vintage Cabbageware & A Head of Lettuce!
In the 1960βs it became in fashion to adorn your dinner table with lettuce and cabbage shaped plates. I can say, I can see why! These plates are darling and add a whimsical element to any table setting. With COVID-19 alive and present, we have all had to shift our plans and do what is best for our health, and the health of others. That means we are now all staying home and social distancing. I miss being social and I miss having plans. Luckily, playing with my dishes and being creative helps me stay positive. Easter is next week, and I am looking forward to a lovely home cooked meal in our backyard. I might even coordinate an Easter egg hunt for my fiancΓ©. I have been practicing what I would like our table to look like for Easter Sunday. I was influenced by some of my favorite fellow bloggers/tablescape enthusiasts to add a set of vintage
You may remember that I turned a football into a flower vase, well I decided to turn a head of lettuce into a vase for this table setting. It really wasnβt that difficult. If I am being honest, I was planning on making the vase out of a head of cabbage BUT it is coronavirus so produce is limited. I just bough one dozen roses and only used about 10 of them. The cup size I used inside of the lettuce was 6 oz.
I am pleased to share that my idea turned out just as I hoped! Even if it is lettuce, I love it!
